Why is Ultrasound Important in Aesthetics?
You may have had an ultrasound for many different reasons, from monitoring a pregnancy to evaluating blood vessels or internal organs. Ultrasound is a device that achieves a noninvasive approach to visualize what is happening under the skin by the use of ultrasound waves that pass through structures in the body. It is used in medicine for many things from visualizing pregnancy to vessels and organs. At Salt and Sky Wellness, we use ultrasound to assist in placement of hyaluronic acid (HA) filler and biostimulatory products such as Radiesse and Sculptra for the dissolution of unwanted HA filler.
Why is this important?
While HA filler is considered a safe procedure, the placement of filler carries risks as do all medical procedures. The use of ultrasound allows an additional layer of safety in that we are able to visualize the arteries, veins, dermal, epidermal, muscular layers and bone. In this way, we are able to not only place the filler safely by avoiding vasculature, but we can additionally place filler in the optimal plane to achieve the desired effects while decreasing the risk of an adverse vascular event. Additionally, we are able to use ultrasound for patients that have had previous filler placed and would like to have that filler dissolved for either safety, comfort, or personal preference.
Why Salt & Sky Wellness?
The medical providers at Salt & Sky Wellness have had extensive training in ultrasound techniques. Our owner, Linda Agarwal CRNA APRN, holds certification in Point of Care ultrasound techniques and has had over 20 years of experience in using ultrasound in the operating room to do anesthetic blocks and 5 years using ultrasound to identify, place and dissolve HA filler. We hold education and experience in high regard and ensure that our injectors are highly trained in ultrasound techniques for aesthetics. We feel strongly that providing aesthetically desirable results is optimally achieved by the ability to know explicitly where products are being placed and what is already there with the use of ultrasound.
We would love to help you in your aesthetic journey and prioritize safe, personalized care for all of our patients.
